From a small Italian town to the global dance scene, HYPATON has quickly become one of the most exciting new names in electronic music. Blending nostalgic ’90s vocals with futuristic energy, the young producer went viral with his rework of “Be My Lover” and caught the attention of David Guetta himself, now his mentor.
Could you introduce yourself for those who might not know you?
I’m Hypaton, my real name is Giorgio Ortenzi. I’m an Italian DJ and producer who started creating music in my bedroom, just out of curiosity and passion, and over time it turned into my life’s work.
You grew up in Capodimonte, a small town in Italy. What was your childhood like there, and how did music first come into your life?
Growing up in a small town was peaceful and simple. It gave me time to dream. My first contact with music came very early, thanks to my family. There were always instruments around, and I loved experimenting with sounds even before I understood what producing meant.
Your family is full of dentists, but also musicians. When did you realize music was what you really wanted to do?
Yes, it’s a mix of logic and creativity in my family, dentistry and music. I actually studied to follow the same path at first, but at some point I realized I couldn’t see myself doing anything other than music. It wasn’t a decision; it was more like something I couldn’t resist.
Your first DJ set was at Hï Ibiza, that’s a massive debut! Do you prefer being in the studio or performing in front of a crowd?
That night at Hï was surreal. It felt like everything I’d worked for suddenly became real. I love both sides equally. In the studio I can build emotions from scratch, on stage I get to see those emotions come alive in people’s faces.
“Be My Lover” became a massive hit and changed your life overnight. When did you realize that track was going viral? What changed in your life after that song went viral?
I started noticing the numbers going up in a crazy way, thousands of Shazams, messages, DJs playing it everywhere. It all happened so fast that I didn’t even have time to process it. That track opened every door for me. It changed how people saw my name and gave me the chance to turn music into something much bigger.

How did your connection with David Guetta begin?
It actually started when David wrote to me on Instagram. I used to send him my tracks, and he would test them in his sets and give me incredibly detailed feedback on how to make them better. That’s how our connection grew, through music and mutual respect, and from there a real friendship and collaboration started.
What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from working with David as a mentor? And what’s the most valuable advice he has given you so far?
Working with David taught me that success doesn’t come from luck. It’s about consistency, curiosity, and humility. He’s one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever met. The best advice he gave me is to always stay hungry, to never stop learning, and to keep enjoying the process.
Are there any artists you dream of collaborating with next? And do you see yourself exploring genres beyond Future Rave in the future?
There are many artists I’d love to collaborate with, but what matters most to me is the connection and the energy. I’m already experimenting with different sounds. Future Rave will always be part of my DNA, but I don’t want to be defined by one genre. I like to explore and surprise people.
What are your next goals or dreams?
I want to keep building something that lasts, not just hits, but a real identity. Musically, I’m working on new collaborations and some projects that will show a different side of me. The goal is always to evolve, both as an artist and as a person.
